Bsc. Information and Communication Technology

Admission Requirements

WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

Credit in core English, core Mathematics, and Integrated Science, and any three Elective subject including Mathematics, with an aggregate score of 24 or better in the WAEC Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations. Applicants should have aggregate 24 (A-D) for SSSCE/GBCE and 36 (A1 – C6) for WASSCE or better in the SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE. ICT applicants without elective mathematics but have grade B/B2 or better in core Mathematics may be considered.
GBCE/ABCE Applicants

Holders of GBCE Certificate must have Credit passes in five (5) subjects including Mathematics, English and Social Studies or Integrated Science in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE). In addition, the applicant must have passes in three (3) subjects; at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better in the Advance Business Certificate Examinations (ABCE). Holders of only GBCE Certificate CANNOT be admitted on the basis of that qualification alone.
A LEVEL Certificate Applicants

5 Credits (including English Language, Mathematics, an Arts subject and a Science subject) in the WAEC General Certificate of Education (GCE/WASC) Ordinary Level Examination; and 3 passes at the Advanced Level of the GCE. One of the Advanced Level passes should be a grade D or better. A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.
Mature Applicants

Mature Applicants must have attained the age of 27 years or above and must pass an aptitude test in English and Mathematics.
HND Applicants

HND holders with at least Second Class Lower in addition to the basic qualification at SSSCE/OL/WASSCE may be admitted to Second Year of the programme after passing an interview. First Class applicants in the relevant area may be considered for the Third year of the programme.
International Students

International Students may be admitted on the basis of qualification from their home country for which the National Accreditation Board/West African Examination Council shall determine equivalences. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non English speaking countries.

BSc. Mathematics

Admission Requirements

Admission Requirement

Credit in core English, core Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies, and any three Elective subjects preferably Economics, Geography, Government, Accounting, Financial Management, Business Management and Elective Mathematics with an aggregate score of 24 or better in the WAEC SSSCE and 36 or better in the WASSCE. Applicants should have aggregate 24 (A-D) for SSSCE and 36 (A1 – C6) for WASSCE or better in the SSSCE/WASSCE.
GBCE/ABCE Applicants

BSc. Agribusiness

Admission Requirements

a. WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

Candidates with the Senior High School Certificate must in addition to credit in the three core subjects (English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science), obtain Credits in Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, Biology or General Agriculture and Social Studies, Business, General Arts with Economics. The minimum requirement should be an aggregate score of 36 or better in the WASSCE and 24 or better in the SSSCE.
b. GBCE/ABCE Applicants

GCE candidates must have five credits at the Ordinary Level examination or equivalent including English Language, Mathematics and either (i) Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science or (ii) General Science, Additional General Science, and any other subject (e.g. Economics, Geography, and Introduction to Business Methods etc). In addition, candidates should obtain three passes at the GCE Advanced Level or equivalent in either: (i) Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, and Biology/Agricultural Science or (ii) Economics, Mathematics, and Business Management/Geography.
c. Mature Applicants

Mature Applicants must have attained the age of 25 years and above and must have Credit in English and Mathematics at the GCE O’Level/SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE. Applicants without Credit in English and Mathematics must pass an aptitude test in English and Mathematics.

Candidates in these categories (a) (b) and (c) will be admitted to level 100

d. Post-Secondary Teachers Certificate

Candidates with Post-Secondary Teachers Certificate, Agricultural Science option with either Science or Mathematics combination or Agricultural College Certificate in Animal Health and Production may be admitted to Level 200

e. Diploma

Candidates with the relevant Diploma from KNUST, University of Ghana (UG) or its equivalent from a recognised University must have a Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 60 (KNUST Diplomates) and a B+ average (UG Diplomates) or from any other recognised Diploma awarding institutions may be admitted to Level 300.

BA. Rural and Community Development

Admission Requirements

WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

BSc. Environmental & Natural Resources Management

Admission Requirements

SSSCE applicants

Credit in core English, core Mathematics and either Integrated Science or Social Studies and any three elective subjects which should include at least one of the following: Economics; Geography; Government; Mathematics; Biology; Chemistry Physics and General Agriculture with an aggregate score of 24 or better (A-D).
WASSCE Applicants

Credit in core English, core Mathematics and either Integrated Science or Social Studies and any three elective subjects which should include at least one of the following: Economics; Geography; Government; Mathematics; Biology; Chemistry Physics; Horticulture, General Agric, Animal Husbandry and Crop Science with an aggregate score of 36 or better (A1-C6).
A LEVEL Certificate Applicants

5 Credits (including English Language, Mathematics, an Arts subject and a Science subject) in the WAEC General Certificate of Education (GCE/WASC) Ordinary Level Examination; and 3 passes at the Advanced Level of the GCE. One of the Advanced Level passes should be a grade D or better. A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.
HND Applicants

HND holders with at least Second Class Lower in addition to the basic qualification at SSSCE/OL/WASSCE may be admitted to Second Year of the programme after passing an interview.
Mature Applicants

Part Time Students

Part-time students are also considered.
Other possible entry routes include International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, GBCE, ABCE, the American Grades 12 and 13 examinations and other external examinations which have the equivalences to the WASSSCE, SSSCE and the GCE. Candidates with external qualifications are admitted to either Level 100 or 200, depending on the nature of qualification and their equivalences to local qualifications.
International Students

International Students may be admitted on the basis of qualification from their home country for which the West African Examination Council shall determine equivalence. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries
 

BSc. Nursing

Admission Requirements

SSSCE Applicants

SSSCE Applicants must have obtained aggregate 24 or better in six subjects (3 core and 3 electives). The core subjects and minimum grades must be grade D or better in Mathematics, English Language and Integrated science. The elective subjects should be selected from any of the following subject areas: Science, General Arts, General Agric with Chemistry, Home Economics without Biology.
WASSCE Applicants

Applicants must have aggregate 36 or better in six subjects (3 core and 3 electives). The core subjects and minimum grades are: grade C6 or better in Mathematics, English Language and Integrated science. The elective subjects should be selected from any of the following subject areas: Science, General Arts, General Agric with Chemistry, Home Economics with Food and Nutrition.
Diploma Applicants

Diploma in Nursing should be obtained from a recognised University, with a final grade point average of 3.25 or better, in addition to the basic qualification at WASSCE / O’ Level. Such candidates who must also be RGNs may be admitted to the Second Year of the programme after a selection interview.
Mature Applicants

Mature applicants must be nurses with SRN, RMN, RM, CHN or relevant nursing certificate. Candidates must have attained the age of 27 years or above with five (5) credits in five (5) GCE “O” Level or SSSCE Subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Science in addition to passing the mature student entrance examination and an interview. All mature students are admitted to the first year of the programme
International Students

International students may be admitted on the basis of qualification from their home country for which the West African Examination Council shall determine equivalence. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries. In addition, foreign applicants must satisfy the professional entry requirements determined by the Nurses and Midwives’ Council of Ghana.
 

BSc. Physician Assistantship

Admission Requirements

WASSCE / SSSCE Applicants

Applicants must have aggregate 24 or better in six subjects (3 core and 3 electives). The core subjects and minimum grades are: grade D (C4, C5, C6) or better in Mathematics, English Language and integrated Science. The Elective subjects should include Credit in 3 Science subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics.
Advanced Level Certificate Applicants

GCE candidates must have five credits at the Ordinary Level Examination or equivalent including English Language, Mathematics and either Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science or (ii) General science and any other subject.
In addition, candidates should obtain three passes at the GCE advance level or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics and Biology or Agricultural Science.
Advanced Diploma / Diploma Applicants

Diploma holders in Physician Assistantship with a minimum of B+ average/second class upper and three years working experience in addition to the basic qualification at WASSCE/SSSCE/OL may be admitted to the Third Year of the programme. All other diploma candidates would be admitted to the second year.
Mature Applicants

Mature Applicants must be nurses with SRN or RGN certificates. Candidates must have attained the age of 25 years or above with five (5) credits in five (5) GCE ‘O’Levels or six passes at the WASSCE / SSSCE subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Science
International Students

International students may be admitted on the basis of qualification from their home country for which the West African Examinations Council shall determine equivalence. Evidence of proficiency in English will be required in the case of applicants from non-speaking countries.
